The Museum of Bad Art: Masterworks

Blijkbaar bestaat er ook een Museum of Bad Art (Moba). Michael Frank is daar de curator-in-chief, geen makkelijke opdracht me dunkt. Het aanbod om uit te selecteren is enorm: “The principal principle for a work of art to be accepted,” legt Michael Frank uit, “is that it must have been created by someone who was seriously attempting to make an artistic statement—one that has gone horribly awry in either its concept or execution.”. Dit bizarre museum is in Dedham, Massachusetts gehuisvest, in de kelder van een Boston movie theater. Er is een catalogus uitgegeven onder de titel The Museum of Bad Art: Masterworks . Het presenteert een dwarsdoorsnede van meer dan zeventig werken uit MOBA’s vaste collectie. Titels van geselecteerde werken zijn ondermeer the immortal No Visible Means of Support, Retch Like an Egyptian; Bone-Juggling Dog in Hula Skirt; Alien Adam and Eve; Lulli, Fowl and Gravestone; en the ever-troubling Spewing Rubik's Cubes.
