Wallace Collection

Na Darwin Online  kan men nu ook de werken en manuscripten van Alfred Russel Wallace op het internet raadplegen. Wallace Online is de eerste volledige uitgave van de geschriften van naturalist en mede-oprichter van de evolutietheorie Alfred Russel Wallace. Inclusief een uitgebreide compilatie van zijn manuscripten  - een groot deel van deze werken en notities zijn zo voor het eerst beschikbaar. Het project wordt geleid door John van Wyhe, bijgestaan ​​door Kees Rookmaaker, van de Nationale Universiteit van Singapore, in samenwerking met de Wallace Pagina door Charles H. Smith. Alfred Russel Wallace was ondermeer baanbrekend op het vlak van de astrobiologie, de wetenschappelijke studie van condities die leven zouden mogelijk maken op andere planeten. Hij introduceerde dit concept in zijn boek Man's place in the Universe (1903). Later publiceerde hij Is Mars habitable? (1907).
